Wokefield Common Nature Reserve, 12th August 2026
It is a slow job but a sizeable chunk of Common Reed and Reedmace were dug out of the dry pond bed at Wokefield Common by CRoW. It’s a case of keeping on top of it to maintain a good stretch of open water. One or two dragonflies were about in spite of the lack of water this year. In addition sight lines were checked where bridleways cross roads, and some time spent keeping open the more public pathways cutting mainly Gorse.
